She is a Doctor of Mathematics and Professor of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics.

She teaches these two subjects to the degree of Biotechnology at the University of Vic.

She is currently the director of the Bioscience department and coordinates a master's degree in Bioinformatics.

 

His research is focused on discovering the genetic component and molecular mechanisms related to diseases.

This requires the analysis of very diverse data: genetic mutations, epigenetic information, measures of gene activity (gene expression), and also data on the microorganisms that inhabit our body (eg intestinal flora).

Their task is to develop new statistical methods and models that allow them to reliably and efficiently analyze these large amounts of data and to relate to human health.
